Liverpool are being linked with Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman.

According to Premium Sport in Italy, Liverpool have made an enquiry to Roma about signing midfielder Kevin Strootman this month.

Liverpool are expected to lose Emre Can in the long term amid strong rumours of a move to Juventus and the Reds will have to replace the German powerhouse, despite Naby Keita’s arrival next summer.

And Italian outlet Premium Sport has reported that the Anfield club have touched base with Roma over signing the 27-year-old Dutchman.

Strootman appears to have put his injuries to one side and is now a regular for the Italian giants, starting 17 games in all competitions this season.

And Liverpool fans seem to be behind the idea of seeing him ply his trade on Merseyside.

Strootman’s profile was certainly a lot higher a few years ago following repeated links to Manchester United, and his injury history will make some fans worry somewhat.

Nevertheless, he remains a very fine player fitness permitting and manager Jurgen Klopp could do a lot worse in terms of Can replacements.

According to Transfermarkt, Strootman is valued at around £22 million by the Giallorossi.
