Carlos Pena's spell at Rangers is coming to a swift end as he is set to seal his exit from Ibrox.
While the Rangers squad are in winter training camp in Florida, Pena is in Mexico to sign for Cruz Azul.
Cruz Azul are being managed by Pedro Caixinha, who signed Pena for Rangers - only to be sacked in October.
Pena's move is a reported to be a loan deal, with Rangers paying a percentage of his wages.
The Mexican attacker's time at Rangers had some positive moments, including a goal against Aberdeen, but there were times when he simply looked lost.
Allowing him a return to Mexico is a smart move at this point, and Rangers will eventually receive a fee when they sell him in the summer.
Certainly it seems that one spell under Pedro Caixinha has not put him off playing for the Portuguese manager again.
