Some Celtic fans on Twitter are more than happy to take £7 million for striker Leigh Griffiths.
The 27-year-old marksman has played second fiddle to Moussa Dembele in Glasgow over the past 18 months or so, and even Odsonne Edouard was playing ahead of him under Brendan Rodgers at times during December.
Nevertheless, Griffiths is a brilliant goalscorer and his 40-goal haul from the 2015-16 campaign has made him a popular figure on the green half Glasgow.
But some Hoops supporters are willing to let him go if that £7 million fee is accurate.
I’ll drive him down there myself, he doesn’t look interested.— Reece (@_RH67) January 6, 2018
Punt him, keep Dembele, simple.— Sean McGinlay (@seanjmcginlay) January 6, 2018
The banter if Dembele stays and Griffiths leaves. Celtic das won’t know what to do with themselves— John Hodgkiss (@19jhodgkiss) January 6, 2018
I'll drive Griffiths to Swansea for £7m— marc (@marc_celtic) January 6, 2018
Sell sell sell !— Jonathan Martin (@JMartinho11) January 6, 2018
I honestly think BR could punt any player from the current Celtic squad given their achievements the past few seasons. Won't be hard for him to get rid of who he wants.— IndependentNarco (@IndependentNarc) January 6, 2018
Griffiths remains a very divisive figure among Celtic fans but surely what both sets can agree on is the fact that the former Hibs striker, on his day, is unplayable.
If Celtic losing Dembele - who is linked with a Premier League move - then Griffiths's importance to the team grows in a big way.
