Adam Armstrong took part in Newcastle United training on Friday as Rafael Benitez put the players through their paces ahead of Saturday's visit of Luton Town.
The highly-rated striker returned from his half-season loan at Bolton Wanderers this week and joined up with his Newcastle team-mates for the first time since last summer.
The 20-year-old, who only scored once in 20 appearances with Bolton, is eligible to make his first Magpies appearance of the season when Luton visit Tyneside this afternoon.
But it seems unlikely that Benitez will give him any minutes, considering that playing two competitive matches for different teams in the same season will prevent United from sending him out on loan again as Blackburn Rovers reportedly monitor him.
Despite being unlikely to play for Newcastle today, the young striker, who was often played on the left-hand side of attack with the Trotters, looked in good spirits nonetheless.
