West Ham United beat West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Tuesday.

West Ham defender Declan Rice reacts during the Carabao Cup Fourth Round match between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United at Wembley Stadium on October 25, 2017 in London, England.

Hammers youngster Declan Rice spoke exclusively to the club’s official website in the aftermath of his side’s hard-fought 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night, and opened up on what he and his teammates knew they needed to do in the second-half of the game.

West Ham now sit in 16th position in the Premier League table, one point clear of the drop zone, and everything all of a sudden seems to look a whole lot brighter at the London Stadium.

There is no rest for the wicked, however, with David Moyes’ side travelling to Wembley tonight to take on Tottenham Hotspur.

They will at least be far more confident in their chances of taking something from the game, however, having beaten Alan Pardew’s stubborn Baggies side.

It could have been so different on Tuesday, however, had Moyes’ men not shown the character and resilience to fight back during the second-half.

Rice spoke to reporters after the game, and shared how he and his teammates tried to get the crowd more involved during the second-half of the game, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“At half time we knew we had to come out in the second half and give the fans something to cheer. It was a massive sigh of relief getting the second goal, but we’ve got Tottenham on Thursday now so we have to stay focused.”

With tonight’s opponent flying high, Rice and co will have to be at their very best if they are to leave Wembley with anything to show for their efforts.

The bare minimum required of Moyes’ side will be 100 per cent commitment, and if they match their second-half display against West Brom, they will have every chance of earning a positive result against Spurs.
