It is claimed that Norwich are likely to be forced into selling Pritchard, but are keen to get back the £8.5 million they paid Tottenham Hotspur 18 months ago and could even make a small profit.
The 24-year-old could replace Kasey Palmer at Huddersfield, after the Chelsea youngster's loan spell came to a premature on Tuesday.
A former England Under-21 international, Pritchard has impressed with eight goals and 12 assists in 42 games for Norwich, although he has played only eight times this season, owing to injury.
Should he leave for the John Smith's Stadium, Pritchard would be the latest in a long line of high profile Norwich players to depart since the end of last term.
He would be Huddersfield's second signing of the January window, after defender Terence Kongolo, who has arrived on a half-season loan from AS Monaco.
