Crystal Palace have long been linked with a move for the Frenchman.
Crystal Palace have made contact with Lille over Ibrahim Amadou, according to the Sun.
The Eagles are said to be preparing a formal offer of £13 million for the French side’s captain, following confirmation that Scott Dann will miss the rest of the campaign.
And it is claimed that Amadou would jump at the chance to join Roy Hodgson’s men.
Crystal Palace were linked with moves for Amadou, who has been used predominantly in a defensive midfield role this season, in each of the past two transfer windows, only to sign Luka Milivojevic and Mamadou Sakho instead.
However, Dann’s injury appears to have revived Palace’s interest in the 24-year-old Frenchman, who is under contract until 2020.
Crystal Palace were cut adrift at the bottom of the Premier League when Hodgson took over last September, but climbed to 14th place following Tuesday’s 2-1 win at Southampton.
