Celtic go into the Scottish Premiership's winter break off the back of a draw with their bitter rivals at Parkhead.
Celtic fans have been lauding Kristoffer Ajer on Twitter after the Hoops ended 2017 by ensuring that their unbeaten record against Rangers since Brendan Rodgers arrived at the club continues after a draw at Parkhead.
It was an extremely disappointing afternoon for the Bhoys. They had some great chances during the first-half, but found Gers stopper Wes Foderingham in inspired form on a couple of occasions while they also missed the target after getting into great positions.
The second-half saw the visitors arguably turn the tables, with Craig Gordon having to make a couple of stunning saves, while Alfredo Morelos proved to be wasteful on a few occasions.
With Celtic so dominant in Old Firm meetings over the last couple of years - it was Rangers' second point in eight meetings since the start of last season - there was unsurprisingly, plenty of disappointment coming from the Hoops fans on social media after the game.
A number of players have been criticised for their displays, but one player who was praised was Ajer - who has looked extremely impressive during this recent run in the team.
The 19-year-old looked composed and dealt with Morelos well during the game to help preserve a point. The Norwegian has played all of Celtic's games since they lost to Hearts earlier in the month, and they have kept a clean sheet on every occasion, and the fans are excited about his potential.
Here is the best of the reaction to his performance...
Ajer was the stand out the day for us. Young guy coped brilliantly at the back. Brown was great first half.— Hez (@Hez_cfc67) December 30, 2017
Lustig and boyata are spent pennies, Ajer looks like he's going to be number 1 choice at CB. Ntcham should have started. Dembele and Sinclair are shadows of last season. Gordon great with point blank saves but distribution awful. A few tweaks needed— Disco Dave (@discodave14) December 30, 2017
Him or Ajer our best player. A weird substitution subbing off Sinclair when both Armstrong and Mcgregor were knackered.— Stato (@Stato90) December 30, 2017
Ajer was brilliant today— Antonia McMahon (@ant0niamcmahon) December 30, 2017
Ajer and Brown the only pass marks for me, today.— Davie McLaughlin (@firstglass1888) December 30, 2017
One of the few positives for Celtic was Ajer. Boy has a bright future.— Mark Pryde (@MarkPryde) December 30, 2017
Half the team think they can turn up and everything will be ok. Certain players are living on last season. Ajer and Broony magnificent. Ntcham brilliant when he came on but 75 mins to late. The amount of challenges bottled by some players was a joke.— Andy Shard (@shard_andy) December 30, 2017
Can I just point out that Ajer is going places! Great performance— Barry Carson (@Barry67_) December 30, 2017
We need a striker. Griff isn't enough. We need Tom back fit. We need cover for LB. Tierney has no competition. Today he was as poor as the rest. Ajer was superb tho.— Trish (@sp_trish) December 30, 2017
Only positive the day is how good big Ajer was, superb!— Chaz ✌ (@chazandrews__) December 30, 2017
