The former Arsenal midfielder is currently working at Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly tried to snare him more than once.

A report form the Mirror claims that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has tried to tempt Man City coach Mikel Arteta into joining the backroom team at Spurs on more than one occasion, only for his overtures to be rebuffed by the Spaniard.
The 35-year-old has really impressed Pep Guardiola since joining the Citizens as an assistant coach in the summer of 2016, but his fine work has not gone unnoticed.
The Mirror claim that both Everton and Spurs have attempted to prise him away from the Etihad on more than one occasion recently.

They have obviously been unsuccessful in their efforts, however, with the Mirror claiming that Arteta’s love for Arsenal will prevent him from ever joining the Lilywhites’ coaching staff.
Arsene Wenger is of course contracted to the Gunners until the summer of 2019, and whether he will relinquish his reigns then remains to be seen.

If the Frenchman does leave the Emirates, however, there seems to be a ready-made replacement for him, 200 miles north at the Etihad.
And Arsenal fans will love the fact that Arteta has reportedly rejected advances from Tottenham twice recently. It will, in fact, make the Spaniard an even more popular figure at the Emirates.
