HITC Sport understands that Sheffield United are weighing up a move for the Peterborough United playmaker.

Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony has told a Sheffield United supporter on Twitter that playmaker Marcus Maddison is not for sale.
HITC Sport understands that Sheffield United are weighing up a move for Maddison during the January transfer window.

The Blades have long been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old, according to MacAnthony though he’ll be staying at London Road.
Asked how much Maddison would be available for, the Irishman replied:
According to Transfermarkt, Maddison has scored nine goals and created another 11 in 29 games this season, not counting the three assists he recorded during Sunday’s 3-2 win at Fleetwood, although MacAnthony insists he’s set up another three on top of that.
Asked by another fan how much his star man is worth, though, the Peterborough chief affirmed:
Sheffield United are not currently short in Maddison’s position, the Sheffield Star reported on Wednesday that the Blades have received an informal approach from an unnamed Premier League club willing to pay more than £10 million for Wales playmaker David Brooks.
