The Middlesbrough defender is said to feature on West Bromwich Albion’s radar should Jonny Evans depart.

West Bromwich Albion could make a new bid for Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson as Jonny Evans’ replacement, according to Gambling Times reporter Graeme Bailey.
Bailey writes that the Baggies are also keeping close tabs on Brighton & Hove Albion’s Lewis Dunk and Burnley’s Ben Mee, with Evans keen to see which offers come his way in January.
West Brom are said to be readying a fresh contract offer for Evans – whose current deal expires in 18 months’ time – which would be the ‘largest in their history’.

However, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Everton have all been credited with interest in the 29-year-old, and it is claimed that they could make bids next month.
Gibson, who was called into the England squad earlier this year, recently signed a new five-year contract at Middlesbrough, whose chairman, Steve Gibson, is the 24-year-old’s uncle.

Boro, though, are currently out of the Championship promotion picture, which could tempt Gibson to seek pastures new in January.
