Manuel Lanzini of West Ham during the Premier League match against Arsenal.
Manuel Lanzini has been charged by the FA for diving to win a penalty during West Ham United's 3-0 Premier League victory over Stoke City at the weekend.
The Hammers have until 6pm on Tuesday (December 19) to appeal, but if found guilty then Lanzini will be banned for upcoming matches against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup quarter-final and league clash with Newcastle United.
David Moyes, manager of West Ham United, during the Premier League match against Stoke City.
This will be a blow to manager David Moyes, with the Argentine being a key part of his team during a recent upsurge in form from West Ham.
Lanzini has operated behind strikers Michail Antonio and Marko Arnautovic for the past three games, during which time Moyes' side have beaten Chelsea and Stoke and drawn with the Gunners.
However, if the 24-year-old isn't available could that give Javier Hernandez a way back into the starting XI having not started a game since the 4-1 defeat to Liverpool on November 4?
West Ham United's Javier Hernandez controls the ball during the English Premier League football match against Liverpool.
Hernandez was initially absent with a hamstring injury during that time, but since returning to full fitness has struggled to get back into the team.
Yet could the striker come back in and be flanked by Antonio and Arnautovic in a slight variation on the wing-back system that Moyes has favoured in recent times?
