Liverpool may recall winger Ryan Kent from his loan spell at Freiburg in January, alerting Fulham, Leeds United and Middlesbrough, the Mirror reports on page 54 of Monday's printed edition.
Fulham, Leeds and Middlesbrough were among the many clubs credited with interest in Kent during the summer transfer window, but he was sent to Germany instead.
The 21-year-old, who scored three goals and made as many more while on loan to Barnsley last season, was due to spend the entire campaign with Freiburg.
But having only started once for his temporary employers, and appeared in only two of their last nine league fixtures, it would come as little surprise to see Liverpool take action.
Kent's Reds teammate Sheyi Ojo is already impressing on loan to Fulham, which could give them the edge over Leeds and Middlesbrough, whose potential battle would be particularly intriguing given that Victor Orta and Garry Monk - now of United (director of football) and Boro (manager) respectively - swapped clubs last summer.
Should Fulham / Leeds / Middlesbrough make a move for Kent if Liverpool recall the England Under-20 winger?
