Could Erik Sviatchenko’s time at Celtic be coming to an end?

Celtic are willing to listen to offers for Erik Sviatchenko in the January transfer window, according to The Scottish Sun.

Sviatchenko has been on the books of Celtic since January 2016 when he joined from Danish club Midtjylland for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £1.5 million.

Ronny Deila was in charge of the Glasgow giants at the moment, but the under his successor Brendan Rodgers, the 26-year-old central defender has failed to establish himself in the team.

According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are set to sign defender Marvin Compper from RB Leipzig, with the centre-back to hold crunch talks the German club over his future.

It has been reported that the arrival of Compper would push Sviatchenko out of the door at Celtic Park.

The Scottish Sun has claimed that clubs in the Championship in England are monitoring the Denmark international centre-back.

Celtic are set to win the Scottish Premiership title this season and are also in the knockout rounds of the Europa League.
