The West Ham United ace has been deployed in central defence over recent weeks.

Hammers ace Aaron Cresswell sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and responded to a question asking him if he is happy playing in the centre-back position, with the likes of James Collins and Jose Fonte currently out injured.
The 28-year-old is a left-back by trade, but has filled in at centre-half for the past three games, with David Moyes opting to play three at the back.
The Liverpool-born defender struggled to replicate his form of the last two seasons at the start of this campaign, but has really flourished since Moyes’ appointment as manager last month.

His improved form has coincided with West Ham’s upturn in fortunes, and only an inferior goal difference to West Brom and Crystal Palace is keeping them inside the bottom three at the moment.
Cresswell and co head to Stoke City tomorrow, and will be hoping for all three points – a result that could see them jump outside the bottom three for the first time in a very long time, and with Winston Reid set to miss the game through suspension, he will most likely continue in the centre-half role.
The former Ipswich man discussed his recent positional change, when speaking to WHUFC.com, suggesting that he is definitely improving under Moyes:

“I’m enjoying it. When the gaffer asked me to play there against Manchester City, sometimes you have to fill in when we have a few injuries, but we’ve picked up from there and we’ve kept two clean sheets in a row, so hopefully we can keep that going. I definitely feel I’m improving under the manager and his staff. Anyone who watches his training sessions will see organisation, set pieces and defending as a unit are his main things and that’s what we’ve done.”
West Ham’s game away at Stoke kicks off tomorrow at 15:00, and a win could take Moyes’ side as high as 13th in the table, should results elsewhere go their way.
