Liverpool's rivals Everton are interested in signing Adama Soumaoro from Ligue 1 side Lille, as reported by the Daily Mail, with the French club needing to raise money quickly given that they are in a difficult financial situation.

Strong physically and composed in possession, Soumaoro, who is valued at £20 million according to the report, should be well suited to playing in the Premier League and could well prove to be an astute signing for Liverpool if they are able to complete a deal.

If Liverpool are to start performing with greater consistency and challenge for trophies under Klopp then it is vital that they improve defensively and Soumaoro could help them do just that.
