But after a spell at Blackburn Rovers in between, Marshall currently finds himself out of favour at Wolves, where he has played less than 120 minutes of Championship football all season.
And having been credited with interest almost perennially since his loan spell ended, the Owls, along with Cardiff City, are again said to be ‘chasing’ the Salfordian ahead of the January window [Daily Star printed edition, page 43].
The newspaper also suggests that Marshall is valued at £1 million by Wolves, who are Sheffield Wednesday’s guests on Friday.
14 places and 21 points currently separate Wednesday from league-leading Wolves, although that could work in their favour should second-place Cardiff challenge any attempt to bring Marshall back to Hillsborough.
