Liverpool fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Emre Can against West Bromwich Albion.
Can featured for Liverpool in the Premier League game against West Brom at Anfield on Wednesday evening.
The 23-year-old midfielder started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the game ended in a goalless draw.
Liverpool fans were not pleased with the display produced by the Germany international, who can also operate as a defender and has been on the books of the Reds since the summer of 2014 when he joined from Bayer Leverkusen for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £10 million when Brendan Rodgers - now at Celtic - was the manager of the Merseyside outfit.
Emre can gives away far to many silly fouls and is dispossessed far to much— LFC 92 (@LFC92) December 13, 2017
#LFC should sub in someone like Ox for Emre Can. Pointless when he's struggling to recover ball & Coutinho is playing deeper than him to make something since 2nd half began.— Sid (@_Sid_J) December 13, 2017
Emre thinks he can play consistency for juve— mila (@mila_lfc) December 13, 2017
Emre Can doesn’t have a brain.— Fāz (@FazLFC1) December 13, 2017
Hahaha Emre Can. I'm blocking any LFC fan that thinks he's better than any of our current midfielders.— Prime Minister Of Ghana ™ (@ONEKEPLER) December 13, 2017
Emre Can is such a frustrating player at times. So often ponderous in possession and slows #LFC down.— Mr Writer (@RWHwriter) December 13, 2017
Over the course of the 90 minutes at Anfield on Wednesday evening, hosts Liverpool had 71% of the possession, took 14 shots of which five were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.
