Everton picked up a point with a 1-1 draw at Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, as new manager Sam Allardyce continues to steady the ship at Goodison Park.

Wayne Rooney's second half penalty handed the Toffees a share of the spoils after Mohamed Salah's opener, with Allardyce adding another point to Everton's tally.

Whilst some Everton players impressed at Anfield, one man who didn't impress fans was defender Cuco Martina, who was again pressed into action at left back.

The Curacao international is predominantly a right back, but with Leighton Baines out of action, the summer signing from Southampton has been used at left back lately, with less than ideal results.

It seems imperative that Everton bring in a new left back in January, but fans are actually hoping that a forgotten left back can make an impact in the new year.

Luke Garbutt has been on the books with the Toffees since signing from Leeds in 2009, but the 24-year-old has been a bit-part figure, making just 11 first-team appearances during his time with Everton.

Garbutt was once highly rated but has now become so forgotten about that former boss Ronald Koeman didn't even register him for Premier League games, meaning he is unable to play until Everton can register him in January.

Fans took to Twitter after Sunday's game in order to send messages to Garbutt, suggesting that he should be in the team instead of Martina and January can't come soon enough, with many slating Koeman for not even registering him in the squad.
