Most of Tottenham Hotspur’s best players have already been tied down to long-term deals.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media for his pre-match press conference today, and responded to a question asking him if he is happy with the way in which Daniel Levy handles affairs behind the scenes, as quoted by popular football website Football.London.

The Tottenham chairman has become notorious for his hard-nosed approach to business during his time in the game, and it is hard not to commend him for the manner in which he always seems to get the very best deal for his club, whether that is through buying or selling players.

Some have accused Levy of holding the club back, however, what with his refusal to pay anyone at Spurs more than £100,000 per week.

That wage structure will surely have to be smashed soon, however, if Tottenham are to keep hold of some of their prized assets, including the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen.

Pochettino discussed Levy’s approach to contract talks with some of Spurs’ key men, when speaking at his pre-match press conference, as quoted by Football.London:

Daniel Levy (R) looks on during the Premier League match between West Bromwich Albion and Tottenham Hotspur at The Hawthorns on October 15, 2016 in West Bromwich, England.

“I think the club is going to take a decision with every player for the player to be happy and the players who want to play for us. The players show their commitment. I am so calm at how Daniel Levy drives everything and manages all the contracts with the players. I am not worried or concerned about this.”

One stand-out performer for Tottenham who is still yet to agree fresh terms on his current deal is Toby Alderweireld, and Levy will surely have to offer the Belgian the kind of money that any top level Premier League footballer deserves, if they are to keep hold of the centre-back.

The 55-year-old will not be bullied into paying extortionate money, however, and Spurs fans should be safe in the knowledge that he will always execute the best possible deal for the club from a financial aspect.
