Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo spoke to reporters after his side’s disappointing 0-0 draw with Sunderland at Molineux yesterday, and pleaded with the home fans to understand just how difficult it is to win games in the Championship, as quoted by the club’s official website.

The Black Country outfit remained top of the pile after yesterday’s stalemate, but now have just an eight point lead over third placed Bristol City, after the Robins’ impressive win away at Sheffield United on Friday night.

Wolves have been nothing short of sensational this season, impressing with their fine displays up and down the country, and Nuno deserves great credit for the manner in which he has transformed an underperforming group of players into a solid, more unified outfit.

The Portuguese spoke to reporters after yesterday’s game, and urged the home fans to be patient with his side, as quoted by Wolves.co.uk:

“Our fans have to know victories are hard to build and we need them to keep pushing and supporting us and then the results will come. It takes hard work and we will work harder this week. We know we have solutions inside the squad to put it together and win the game.”

Next up for Nuno’s men is a trip to Yorkshire to take on Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship on Friday night, and nothing less than a win will do, if they are to keep the chasing pack at bay.
