Tottenham Hotspur have struggled in the Premier League of late.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media during his pre-match press conference yesterday, ahead of his side’s clash with Stoke City in the Premier League today, and named three Tottenham players who really benefitted form their midweek win over APOEL in the Champions League, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.
The Lilywhites are currently in the midst of a concerning dip in form, having taken just two points from their last four league outings, and they sit a distant 18 points points adrift of Pep Guardiola’s rampant Manchester City side in the table.
They have been superb on the continent, however, finishing top of their Champions League group – one that included both Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, having taken 16 points from their six games.

And Pochettino told reporters how there were three players in particular who benefitted from the midweek win over the Cypriots, as quoted by Football.London:
Mauricio Pochettino
“It was very good to finish well the Champions League group stage. It was important after a few games that we could not win, to win again. For different players it was very positive to play the game, to play 90 minutes. Players that don’t have the possibility to play regularly in the starting XI. Also it’s important to increase the competition between them and build their confidence, like Georges-Kevin N’Koudou or Juan Foyth or Fernando Llorente, who scored. It’s so important because we have ahead a busy period.”
Whether the Argentine gives the three players mentioned more opportunities over the coming weeks remains to be seen, but with the hectic Christmas period on the horizon, there is a very good chance that they will be needed.
