Guillem Balague has provided an update on Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, amid rumours that the midfielder could sign for Everton.
The powerful midfielder was actually spotted in England earlier today, but Balague claims that he was in London visiting his son.
However, the Sky Sports La Liga expert claims that N’Zonzi could indeed be on the move in January.
On Nzonzi: he was in London but not to negotiate a transfer (he doesn’t need to do that!). His son lives in London, but... Something has happened between Berizzo and him, he has been out of squad and... pic.twitter.com/LNrDHpBi5R— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) December 5, 2017
Sevilla would consider his sale. His buy out clause is €40m but €5m are for him in a potential transfer, so the cost is really €35, which is very decent for his quality. He’s also open to a transfer in January. Sevilla have not received a single offer yet— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) December 5, 2017
Everton are believed to be in competition with Arsenal for N’Zonzi’s signature.
N’Zonzi’s previous spell in English football came with Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City, but it is at Sevilla where he has really excelled.
The defensive midfielder is renowned as one of the finest in La Liga, and his arrival at Everton would raise eyebrows.
N’Zonzi would be in competition with the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin, Tom Davies and Idrissa Gueye if he was to move to Goodison Park.
