Forest have scored 28 goals in 20 games so far this season.
Nottingham Forest haven endured an inconsistent campaign so far.
Mark Warburton's side currently lie in 13th place in the Championship, 11 points clear of relegation and eight points behind the play-offs.
They have plenty of time to close in on the top six and also have the January transfer window to make improvements but does Warburton need another striker?
Kieran Dowell of Nottingham Forest celebrates scoring an equalising goal during the Sky Bet Championship match between Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest at Portman Road
His current forward options are Jason Cummings, Tyler Walker, Apostolos Vellios, Ben Brereton and Daryl Murphy.
Murphy is the clubs joint leading scorer alongside Everton loanee Kieran Dowell with seven league goals. When you compare that to the teams in the top seven, with the exception of Cardiff City, they all have a player in double figures so far.
Daryl Murphy is Forest's top scorer with seven goals so far this season
Should Murphy get injured then Forest may be in trouble so they can't solely rely on him. Cummings, Walker and Brereton have only scored three league goals between them although the trio are all aged 22 and under so it would be harsh to put the scoring burden on one of them.
Murphy offers aerial threat, strength however he isn't the quickest and isn't known for making darting runs in behind. The Irishman is also 34-years-old so playing week in week out for the rest of the season may be quite demanding.
Forest have netted 28 goals this term, only three teams in the top 12 have scored fewer which shows they need to bridge that gap.
