The Tottenham Hotspur youngster is yet to feature for the first-team this season.

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been desperate to see Marcus Edwards prove his worth for quite some time, with his only first-team appearance thus far coming in a 15-minute EFL Cup cameo against Gillingham last season.

Unfortunately for those supporters fans who have been touting the 19-year-old as the next big thing for years, it seems Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino still feels he is some way off senior selection, leaving him to make do with under-23 and under-19 football.

The latter duties have seen him captain Tottenham in the UEFA Youth League, and Edwards has delivered some impressive performances this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in five appearances to date.

He could yet add to that when Spurs’ next generation take on APOEL Nicosia’s young guns later this week; then again Pochettino could spring a surprise by selecting Edwards for the first-team.

With Tottenham’s own match against the Cypriot side a dead rubber with the North London club confirmed as group leaders, the Argentine could use the game to blood some young players and test out some fringe stars.

That is certainly what a section of Spurs fans want, with some taking to Twitter to plead with the club to give Edwards a chance.

We took a look and you can read a selection below, although only time will tell if Pochettino grants them their wish.
