West Ham may have lost the Premier League game against City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening, but the London club gave a good account of themselves.
David Moyes’s side actually took the lead against the Citizens, but Pep Guardiola’s side launched a successful comeback.
McBride, who worked with Moyes at Preston North End and Everton, was following the match, and he was impressed with the performance of the Hammers.
The 45-year-old former USA striker has also praised West Ham goalkeeper Adrian, who joined the club back in the summer of 2013 when Sam Allardyce was in charge.
The Spaniard played well against City, and was actually included in the West Ham starting lineup as Joe Hart was ineligible to play against his parent club.
Haven’t seen this kind of passion and commitment from @WestHamUtd this year. Still a lot of time but, surely a foundation to build on.— Brian McBride (@BMcBride20) 3 December 2017
Oh, I forgot to add Adrian is very good. Just need to keep him as focused for the lesser teams. (i.e. everyone else)— Brian McBride (@BMcBride20) 3 December 2017
West Ham’s performance against City was encouraging, but the fact of the matter is that they failed to pick up a single point from the encounter.
The Hammers are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, and they need to put together a run of positive results.
