The West Ham United goalkeeper staked a claim for a starting spot with his accomplished display today.
Hammers stopper Adrian spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s disappointing draw with Manchester City today, and shared his hope that his performance at the Etihad will give David Moyes a selection headache over the next few games, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Joe Hart was unavailable for selection, due to a clause inserted in his loan switch to West Ham from City, and the Spaniard more than impressed in place of the England international.
The 30-year-old prevented the score-line from being seriously one-sided against Pep Guardiola’s men today, making a whole host of fine saves, and frustrating the Citizens right up until the final minute.

And Adrian, who has made just four appearances for the Hammers in all competitions this season, told reporters how he hopes that his performance has given his manager a selection headache ahead of Saturday’s clash with Chelsea, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“We are working hard for the new manager and we need to fight for more points to take us away from the relegation zone. Obviously, from a personal point of view I try to give my best every time I play. The manager knows that I train hard every day, so I try to give him a headache for the next few games to fight for the number one position. This was my first game in the Premier League this season, and I have to keep working.”
Following Saturday’s game against the Blues, West Ham face another tough test when the welcome Arsenal to the London Stadium four days later, and unless Moyes’ men improve dramatically, they could find themselves rock bottom of the table heading into the Christmas period.
