Erik Lamela could be about to make his Tottenham comeback after 13 months on the sidelines.
Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela has been out of action since October 2016 after sustaining a hip injury, but the 25-year-old is back fit again and in line to return at some point this week. The Argentine provides Mauricio Pochettino with another attacking option and with Tottenham fighting in Europe and domestically, his comeback is a welcome one.
Though he is a divisive player depending on who you ask, Lamela was in good form prior to his injury. He had his best season for the club in 2015-16 - scoring 11 goals and was prior to his injury.

Crucially for the Londoners, he is a natural attacking fit to Pochettino's pressing game, and is arguably the club's most creative alternative to Christian Eriksen.
Since arriving at Spurs in 2013, Lamela has provided 18 assists. In 2015-16, only Eriksen made more goals than the former Roma man so his creativity and flair could be a boost to Harry Kane.
An injury to Eriksen, Dele Alli or Heung-Min Son has left Spurs short in their absence so having the option to play Lamela there instead of Moussa Sissoko or Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is a huge benefit.

He's produced some breathtaking moments in a Spurs shirt. He scored a Rabona goal in the UEFA Europa League against Asteras Tripoli in 2014, a superb goal and performance in a 4-1 win against Manchester City in 2015 and a hat-trick in the Europa League against Monaco in the Europa League also in 2015.
Lamela can provide that bit of magic at any given moment and could be the man to reignite their fading title bid.
