Southampton welcome Everton to St. Mary's this afternoon for their latest Premier League clash.

The Saints are currently 14th in the table with 13 points from their first 12 matches and they will be keen to get a few more victories on the board this side of the busy festive fixtures.

In contrast Everton are one point and two places below them, meaning this is something of a six-pointer even at this early stage of the campaign.

Everton continue to rely on caretaker manager David Unsworth while their board search for a permanent replacement for Ronald Koeman.

The Dutchman left Goodison Park weeks ago but Everton's search for a new boss goes on, with their fans growing increasingly frustrated at the situation on Merseyside.

A win for Everton would see them surge up the table but that will be easier said than done against a Southampton side who will not want to slip closer to the bottom three and now have an impressive boss of their own in the form of Mauricio Pellegrino.

This one really could go either way and it should make for an entertaining encounter.
