Sheffield United fans want Blades to sign Fulham's Kevin McDonald in January

Some Sheffield United supporters want their former midfielder Kevin McDonald brought back to Bramall Lane from Fulham in January.

McDonald spent two seasons on Sheffield United's books, but left for the Blades then League One rivals, Wolverhampton Wanderers, in August 2013.

After winning promotion that season, the Scot has since established himself as one of the Championship's best midfielders, moving on to Fulham, with whom he reached the play-offs last season, in August 2016.

But with Sheffield United on the lookout for Paul Coutts replacements this winter, after the 29-year-old suffered a broken leg against Burton Albion last week, some Blades fans see McDonald - who is out of contract in 18 months' time - as the perfect fit.

Others - such as those who booed the Fulham player during Tuesday's 5-4 defeat to the London side - will surely disagree, however, with his Bramall Lane exit continuing to leave a sour taste.
