Leeds United are reportedly interested in Moanes Dabour and Marvin Ducksch ahead of the January transfer window.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Leeds scouted Bundesliga Two’s top goalscorer Marvin Ducksch at the weekend, while they also have Red Bull Salzburg striker Moanes Dabour on their radar ahead of the January transfer window.

Leeds have made a mixed start to the season in the Championship, but go into the festive period of the campaign still not far off the play-off places – making the January window arguably an incredibly important one for Thomas Christiansen’s side.

And it certainly appears that the scouts are putting the work in in the build up to the window, with the Mail reporting that they have been to look at Ducksch in Holstein Kiel’s draw at the weekend.

While the 23-year-old – who is on loan from St Pauli and came through the ranks at Borussia Dortmund – did not get on the scoresheet and was substituted during the second-half, it is no surprise that his form has caught the eye with 10 goals in just 14 league games to leave him at the top of the division’s scoring charts.

But he is not the only striker Leeds like the look of ahead of January, with the Mail adding that Dabour is also attracting their attention.

Dabour, an Israel international, also tops his division’s scoring charts, having scored 11 times for Red Bull Salzburg to help them to the top of the table after 15 games.

Having signed the likes of Pierre-Michel Lasogga, Caleb Ekuban, Pawel Cibicki and Jay-Roy Grot from Europe over the summer, it may not be a surprise if the links with Ducksch and Dabour leave the supporters slightly underwhelmed despite their brilliant form for their respective sides given their lack of Championship experience.

There would certainly be an element of risk involved with pursuing either, but if Leeds did manage to sign either and they were able to replicate their current form after arriving at Elland Road, they may have the goals in them to fire Leeds back into the play-off places.
