Everton are reportedly interested in appointing RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick as their new manager.

Everton are interested in appointing Ralf Rangnick as their new manager, according to The Times.
Rangnick is working as a sporting director at German club RB Leipzig at the moment, having spent only 12 months as a manager in the past six years.

According to the report, the Toffees interviewed the 59-year-old back in the summer of 2013 in order to replace David Moyes, but the Merseyside outfit went for Roberto Martinez instead.
Rangnick has done as a great job as sporting director of RB Leipzig, who appear to have established themselves as the main challengers to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.

The German club are also playing in the Champions League, and one would question why Rangnick would leave them for Everton, who are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
RB Leipzig also have lofty ambitions in the Champions League, and it would come as a surprise if Everton are able to secure the services of Rangnick, who has managed clubs such as VfB Stuttgart, Hannover 96 and Schalke 04 in the past.
