The respective ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United managers said to be among Hull City’s options if Leonid Slutsky is sacked.

The report claims Slutsky is set to be sacked with Hull sat 20th in the Championship table, four points from safety.

Lambert, who left Wolves at the end of last season, is described as being a ‘strong contender’ for the role should it become vacant, following his work at both Molineux and Blackburn Rovers in difficult circumstances.
The Scottish boss also led Norwich City to two promotions and spent three years in charge of a then-Premier League Aston Villa.

Adkins, meanwhile, has been out of work since leaving Sheffield United in 2016. The former physio led the Blades to their lowest league finish for 33 years in his sole season at Bramall Lane – 13th in League One – but is said to be ‘well-liked’ by Hull nonetheless.
The report adds that either Lambert or Adkins would be able to ‘come in quickly’ at Hull – potentially even before this Saturday’s visit of Bristol City.
