Chris Sutton spoke after Celtic’s hammering at PSG.

Celtic got off to a dream start against Paris Saint-Germain but it might just have worked against them.

Moussa Dembele’s early goal was followed by a blitz from the French league leader who were 4-1 up after 36 minutes.

PSG went on to win 7-1, following up a 5-0 win at Celtic Park.

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton gave his thoughts on the result after the game.

He defended manager Brendan Rodgers but criticised the quality of the club’s defending.

The defenders were not the only ones at fault, with Scott Brown guilty of casually giving the ball away when Celtic were 1-0 up, and PSG scored a quickfire equaliser.

The only positive for Celtic was that Anderlecht were beaten by Bayern Munich 2-1, ensuring they remain in third place and on course to secure Europa League qualification if they can avoid defeat against the Belgian side.
