Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino sat down for an exclusive interview with Sky Sports ahead of his side’s huge clash with the Gunners in the North London Derby today, and shared his excitement ahead of next season, when he and his team move into their new 61,000 capacity home.

Tottenham’s move to their stadium is expected to provide them with the ability to compete with Europe’s super-clubs financially, although it has become evident that they are clearly capable of competing with the continent’s best on the football pitch already.

The Lilywhites are playing all of their home games at Wembley Stadium this season, and many fans and pundits alike predicted that Pochettino’s men would struggle to finish inside the top four and compete in the Champions League, because of the larger pitch dimensions at the national team’s home.

That notion has been well and truly put to bed, however, with some magnificent wins over Liverpool domestically and Real Madrid on the continent.

And Pochettino sat down for an interview with Sky Sports, suggesting that he cannot wait to share Spurs’ sensational new arena with the club’s fans:

“We’ve seen the new stadium and I was impressed because it’s a massive stadium. We are so excited and we can’t wait to go there and share it with our fans. I think it will be one of the best stadiums in the world. It’s a fantastic project and we are so excited for next season.”

Next up on the agenda for the Argentine, however, is the North London Derby today. The match kicks off at 12:30 and can be seen exclusively live on Sky Sports.
