Liverpool fans are begging Jurgen Klopp to move Joe Gomez into a central role after he impressed there for England on Tuesday.
Gomez, who was making his full debut, lined up alongside John Stones and Harry Maguire in a three-man back line.
And the 20-year-old was named man of the match after shutting out a Brazil side that contained Neymar, Gabriel Jesus and Liverpool's own Philippe Coutinho.
Gomez has made 10 starts for Liverpool this season, though all but one of those have come at right-back.
And with Dejan Lovren failing to impress in the centre, many Reds fans are keen for Klopp to implement a reshuffle against Southampton this weekend.
Here's what they're saying on Twitter...
get him in along side matip it could save a fortune on a new central defender— peter whitmore (@jobbymt09) 15 November 2017
Start playing Joe Gomez CB, use Milner as RB cover— . (@False11Firmino) 15 November 2017
If we could just acknowledge that lovren isn’t good enough and start starting joe Gomez at CB that’d be fab @LFC— Oli (@OliHarris18) 15 November 2017
Well done Joe Gomez for playing CB for England so well. Unfortunately you're gonna be shoved into RB at LFC to allow Lovren play CB because he's been bullied by a kid.— Kenny Gaughan (@manwith3buttock) 15 November 2017
So Joe Gomez at CB and TAA at right back?!?— Rabbit (@_Tshelane) 15 November 2017
Joe Gomez was very very impressive last night, get him partnering Matip asap.— Ian (@Klippity_Klopp) 15 November 2017
LIGHTS CAMERA ACTION! ALL WE NEED IS JOE GOMEZ CB https://t.co/psmvmOuqqQ— Selecta Skills #LFC (@DjSelectaSkills) 15 November 2017
As pointed out above, Liverpool could call upon James Milner or Trent Alexander-Armstrong to replace Gomez on the right, with Nathaniel Clyne expected to miss another three months.
How should Liverpool's back four look against Southampton on Saturday?
