According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in raiding Premier League rivals Watford for exciting forward Richarlison.

Richarlison, 20, starred in his native Brazil with Atletico Mineiro and Fluminense, hitting a combined 19 goals in 67 games for the two clubs.

Whilst seen as one for the future, the left-sided winger has starred for Watford this season, notching four goals and two assists in 11 Premier League outings.

Having impressed in his first Premier League campaign, The Mirror now claim that Tottenham are tracking Richarlison ahead of possibly making a bid for the Brazilian ace in 2018.

Richarlison's rapid transition into the Premier League has been helped along by Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, who serves as Richarlison's mentor and translator, as noted in an interview with the pair in The Sun.

Gomes is no stranger to Tottenham having joined Spurs from PSV Eindhoven in 2008, but he endured a miserable six-year spell at White Hart Lane, having made some comical errors during his time with Spurs.

Gomes told the Watford Observer in 2015 that his time at Tottenham was 'difficult', and whilst he admitted that he did have some good times with Spurs, it's unclear whether he would recommend the same move to Richarlison.

One thing that would work in Tottenham's favour is manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has proven himself as an outstanding developer of young talent, and Richarlison could be the latest exciting young player to thrive under his tutelage.

Gomes may not have a ringing endorsement about his time at Tottenham, and given that this is a much, much different Spurs setup to the one he experienced, Tottenham may be hoping that Gomes doesn't dissuade Richarlison from making a move.
