Ex-Spurs ace Sebastien Bassong was a guest on Sky Sports' Premier League Daily programme on Monday November 13th, and highlighted the importance of Harry Kane to his former side, labelling him as the key man for Tottenham.

The 24-year-old has been in sensational form for both club and country this season, scoring 17 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions, but he is still a minor doubt for the Lilywhites' trip to the Emirates on Saturday.

The balance of power has well and truly shifted in north London, after Spurs finished above Arsenal in the Premier League last season, and are currently four points clear of them in the table this time around.

Mauricio Pochettino will be desperately hoping that Kane is fit at the weekend, however, as he looks to keep pace with Pep Guardiola's rampant Manchester City side.

And Bassong, who made 72 appearances for Tottenham, lavished praise upon the England international striker, insisting that it will be vital for Spurs that Kane is fit for their clash with the Gunners, when speaking live on Sky Sports' Premier League Daily on November 13th:

“Kane is their main man. When he is there, his teammates are more confident. That doesn’t mean they are a one-man team, but especially in the derby, it will be really important for Harry to be there.”

Only time will tell if Spurs have a genuine chance of winning the title this season, but it would be fair to say that three points at the Emirates will be paramount to their hopes of doing just that.

And with Kane in the side, it would take a brave man to bet against them.
