Newcastle United put on red alert as Fernando Torres wants to return to the Premier League.

Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres is reportedly eyeing a move to the Premier League putting clubs like Newcastle United and Southampton on red alert.
The Spain international, who has made 110 appearances for his country, has struggled for regular games for his country this season.

Torres has made just two starts this season – one in La Liga and one in the Copa del Rey. And he will drop further down the pecking order at the club when Diego Costa returns to action in the second half of the season following his return from Chelsea.
The Spaniard won the Champions League with Chelsea, but he was at his imperial best during with stint at Liverpool.
He and Rafael Benitez are close owing to their time together at Liverpool. Benitez signed Torres for the Reds from Atletico Madrid in 2007.

According to the Mirror, Torres has expressed his desire to his representatives to join on loan in January. He wants to play under Benitez or Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino.
He is hoping that either of the two clubs will convince Atletico to let him spend the rest of the season back in England.
Torres has 18 months left on his current deal, and he wants to spend the rest of his career with his hometown club.
