The Portuguese youngster has been linked with a move to both Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to a report from Portuguese media outlet Record, Wolves are set to beat the Gunners to the signature of Joao Carvalho, as Jorge Mendes continues to push the youngster towards a switch to the Championship side.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is highly rated in his homeland, and has impressed for Benfica when given a chance to showcase his undoubted talent.
Arsenal have been tracking Carvalho’s development all season long, but according to the Record, Wolves have stolen a march on their more illustrious counterparts, with Mendes playing a key role in negotiations.

The Black Country have been sensational so far this season, an currently sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table, but that hasn’t stopped Nuno Espirito Santo from actively pursuing options to strengthen his group of players at Molineux.
A move for Carvalho would be reminiscent of the time when Wolves brought Helder Costa to the club in the summer of 2016, initially on loan before making his switch a permanent one in January of this year.
