How has Serge Aurier fared since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Paris Saint-Germain?

The November international break is a checkpoint which signals that we are roughly a third of the way through the season.
This is, in most cases, a long enough time for judgements to be made on the millions of pounds worth of summer signings.
Here we take a closer look at Tottenham Hotspur’s new full-back Serge Aurier.
The Ivory Coast international made a fantastic first impression with a debut full of swagger against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

His Premier League bow was not as seamless, as he nearly cost Spurs two points when he was recklessly sent off for two yellow cards against West Ham United.
Aurier has a battle on his hands to establish himself as Mauricio Pochettino’s first choice, and has shown little as yet to suggest he can match Kieran Trippier’s attacking output.
But his pace does give Spurs some extra protection at the back and for this reason he has been preferred to Trippier in big games against Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old is physically gifted and technically a step up on Kyle Walker, but it does appear as though he is going to be plagued with the same carelessness his predecessor had.
He looks every bit a like-for-like replacement for Walker, and at less than half of the price according to BBC Sport, so will be a good-value signing, if he can improve his decision-making.
