Luke Ayling was heavily criticised after Leeds lost to Derby.
Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has come in for flak on social media after the Whites slipped to a third successive home defeat.
Ayling allowed a cross to be delivered from his side of the pitch which led to Sam Winnall's equaliser for Derby County, before the Rams went on to score a winner minutes later.
Leeds had led the game comfortably through Pierre-Michel Lasogga's early strike, but could not find a second goal and were undone by poor defending.
Ayling is one of several Leeds players whose performances have dipped in recent weeks and confidence among the players seems low.
He was recently rewarded with a new contract but this has not inspired an uplift in performances.
Now his poor defending is under the spotlight, with frustrated supporters picking out his slip in usually high standards over the last few weeks, with last night the latest instance.
Here is a look at how fans reacted to Ayling's performance against Derby...
Ayling is not good enough for the football league let alone the championship. People who rate him must fancy him #lufc #shite #disgrace

I dont understand why Ayling just ran out of his position for the first goal and makes no effort to get back. Not good enough. #lufc

Luke Ayling for the first goal just ran forward 15 yards for no reason. Did same against Reading/Sheff Utd. Cost us 3 of last 4 goals. #lufc

Ayling has been found wanting now 2 games on the trot. His prioty is to defend 1st not attack. If he can’t get back don’t bomb forward #lufc

Ayling is out of position so much it’s unbelievable. Said it many times & people defend him. Every goal comes down his side. #lufc

How many times is Luke Ayling going to cost us points this season? Nobody seems to talk about it @WYSdaily #WYSDaily #LUFC

When was the last time we didn't concede down our right side? Ayling needs a long hard look at himself #lufc
