The Belgian ace is one of Tottenham Hotspur’s most important players.

Spurs ace Mousa Dembele shared how his injury problems this season have been the source of great frustration for him, during an exclusive interview with the club’s official website.

The 30-year-old has made just five Premier League appearances for Tottenham this season, and he has been sorely missed.

Dembele possesses the unique blend of physical, raw power and sublime skill – attributes that Mauricio Pochettino has found hard to replace during the Belgian’s absence.

He has been nursed back to fitness recently, however, with substitute appearances against West Ham in the Carabao Cup and Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.

And the former Fulham man explained how the injuries that he has sustained this season have halted his progress, after he began the campaign in such fine fashion, as quoted by TottenhamHotspur.com:

“It’s been tough, of course. It’s frustrating not only missing the big games but you just want to play. I can’t get too carried away because of the result but I played half-an-hour against Manchester United and that’s positive for my physical condition. I thought I started well this season so the injuries have been frustrating but the team has been doing well. Of course, the results against United and West Ham were disappointing but I don’t think we need to worry too much. We’re playing well.”

Spurs play host to Real Madrid at Wembley in the Champions League tomorrow, and the 30-year-old midfielder will be hoping to get some more minutes under his belt, as he continues his return to full fitness.

And a fully fit Dembele will undoubtedly improve Tottenham’s chances of enjoying a successful campaign, both domestically and on the continent, that much is certain.
