Spurs’ defeat against Manchester United on Saturday highlighted a major issue for the club – their inability to win games without star striker Harry Kane.
But how much do Tottenham actually miss the 24-year-old when he is unavailable for selection?
Surprisingly, the statistics are actually not that different.
Since the start of the 206/17 season, the Lilywhites have won 32 out of the 50 games that the England international hitman has played, a win ratio of 64 per cent.
Without Kane on the other hand, during the same period, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been victorious in 11 out of 19 outings, a win ratio of 58 per cent.
Whilst there is a six per cent difference, in the grand scheme of things, that is not actually a considerable amount at all, given Kane’s quality.
The win percentages with and without Kane highlight how the north London outfit are easily capable of winning games without their star man.

The percentage stats prove that with or without the striker, they need to win more games against the so-called lesser sides, because Kane was in the team when Tottenham drew at home against Swansea City and Burnley after-all.
Whilst it seems It seems as though the Spurs players suffer a mental block when the 24-year-old is not in the team, almost as if they lack the belief to go on and win big games, the statistics show that they face the same mental block, even when he is involved.
And Pochettino must address his side’s inability to win games at crucial moments of the season, with or without Kane, as a matter of urgency.
