West Ham United were sensational against Spurs on Wednesday night.
Hammers ace Aaron Cresswell spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and delivered his verdict on teammate Adrian’s antics following Angelo Ogbonna’s winner against Spurs in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
West Ham’s win over their bitter rivals gave the players a much-needed injection of confidence, and eased the pressure on under-fire manager Slaven Bilic.
It was plain to see how much the win at Wembley meant to the east London outfit, after they had received heavy criticism, and rightly so, for their woeful performance against Brighton and Hove Albion last Friday.
The Hammers faithful will be hoping that their side can take that renewed sense of confidence and vigour into their game against Crystal Palace tomorrow, where only a win will do.
And Cresswell told WHUFC.com how delighted he and his teammates were with their superb win over Tottenham, highlighting Adrian’s reaction as evidence of that:
“For the third, I turned round and I think Adrian had got to Angelo before I could even get there!” the England international laughed. “I turned round and there he was! You could see how delighted we all were with the win. After the second goal went in, the momentum really swung our way.”

Cresswell has endured criticism himself this season, after a succession of underwhelming performances, but he seems to have returned to somewhere near his best, and he will have to continue that for the duration of the campaign, if he is to have any chance of making England’s World Cup squad for Russia 2018.
