Report: Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner is West Ham United's first choice

According to a report in the Daily Express, West Ham United owners David Sullivan and David Gold have made Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner their first choice to replace Slaven Bilic.

Bilic’s job is on the line, after West Ham were beaten 3-0 by Brighton & Hove Albion in their last match.

The Hammers were woeful on Friday evening, as they slipped to a crushing defeat against the newly promoted side.

The defeat is said to have concerned West Ham’s board, with Bilic now in serious danger of being sacked.

And if the Croatian does go, Sullivan and Gold are believed to be set to go after Wagner.

The Huddersfield boss has become their first choice target, after the impressive job he has done with the Terriers.

Wagner guided Huddersfield to promotion from the Championship in style last term, and the German boss has helped the Yorkshire side compete well in the Premier League so far.

Huddersfield beat Manchester United yesterday, and West Ham’s board are now set to attempt to bring Wagner to the London Stadium, if Bilic is let go.
