According to a report from The Sun, Newcastle and Stoke are among the host of sides who are interested in France-based striker Nordine Ibouroi – who plays in the fourth tier of French football.

Ibouroi – who plays for FC Martigues – is reportedly attracting attention from a number of sides from across Europe, with Bundesliga outfit Cologne, French sides including St Etienne and some Championship teams all monitoring his progress in the lower leagues, according to The Sun.

But Newcastle and Stoke appear to be, at least, considering trying to bring him to the Premier League, with The Sun reporting that they have sent scouts to monitor his development.

Whether Ibouroi has done enough to justify the attention from the likes of the Magpies and the Potters is arguably questionable as he boasts just one league goal so far this season.

But to be fair to the youngster, it was a stunner to win the clash against Monaco’s reserves and he is also deployed as a winger, so it is probably not a surprise that he is not exactly prolific.

And while the signs currently suggest that he is not ready for a Premier League move, the list of clubs chasing his signature certainly hint that he may be one for the future, and thus, it would make sense if the likes of Newcastle and Stoke made a few more trips to have a look at him before the next window opens.
