Respected pundit Micky Gray raved about Wolves during an appearance on Football on 5 last night, suggesting that the Black Country outfit have been playing some excellent football so far this season, and will take some stopping.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side currently sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table, two points clear of second placed Cardiff City, and have earned themselves many admirers this term for the manner in which they have gone about their business.

There is still an awfully long way to go of course, but for now, Wolves are in fantastic shape to achieve promotion back to the Premier League for the first time since 2012.

Nuno deserves every little bit of credit that comes his way for the way in which he has turned around the Molineux club’s fortunes, and Micky Gray explained that he has great admiration for the football that Wolves are playing this season, when speaking on Football on 5 last night:

“The way they are playing, the way they are bonding with each other – they are going to take some stopping. Some of the football is excellent and when you find yourself at the top of the table it’s all about momentum.”

Next up for the Black Country outfit is a home game against Preston North-End on Saturday before they travel to Premier League leaders Manchester City on Tuesday for their fourth round Carabao Cup tie.

And that will be a real test of how far Nuno’s team have come over the past six months or so.
