West Ham United and Newcastle United are not the only Premier League sides keen on David Brooks, with Liverpool plotting a bid for the youngster.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, West Ham and Newcastle are among the host of Premier League sides to register an interest in Sheffield United starlet David Brooks.

Brooks has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting talents in the Championship this term, helping the Blades put themselves in the promotion picture during the early stages of the campaign, with two assists coming in his first 10 appearances of the season.

It was undoubtedly his performance with England’s under-20s at the Toulon Tournament earlier this year that put him on the map, as he inspired the Three Lions to victory in the competition and was named the Player of the Tournament.

The Mirror reports that a host of top flight sides are chasing Brooks, with front-runners Liverpool now facing competition from the likes of West Ham and Newcastle for the 20-year-old’s signature.

Sheffield United are, unsurprisingly, reluctant to sell their star prospect, but the Mirror reports that the Reds are still plotting a £10 million bid in January.

But if Brooks continues to impress as he has done so far this season, it would perhaps hardly be a surprise if the likes of West Ham and Newcastle responded to any bid that Liverpool make by making an offer of their own in the hope that they can convince the youngster to ignore the division’s heavyweights and instead make the step-up to the top flight by joining one of them.
