Paul Merson says that Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is better than Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski and Paris Saint-Germain ace Edinson Cavani.
Merson has also claimed that the England international striker is better than Paris Saint-Germain ace Edinson Cavani.
“Kane’s not a Lionel Messi or a Cristiano Ronaldo,” Merson told The Daily Star. “He’s not on that level. But they are not centre-forwards.
“Kane is, and he is already the best striker in the business for me. Better than Sergio Aguero or Romelu Lukaku. Better than Robert Lewandowski or Edinson Cavani.”
Kane is one of the best strikers in the world, and many will argue that he is the best in his position in the Premier League.
However, it is premature to claim that the England international is better than fellow strikers Lewandowski and Cavani.
Both Lewandowski and Cavani have been doing it for years. While the former starred for Borussia Dortmund and is now banging in the goals for Bayern in Germany, the latter is a legend at Napoli and has been superb for PSG in Ligue 1.
Both Lewandowski, 29, and Cavani, 30, have been successful in the Champions League as well.
Moreover, the Poland international and the Uruguay international are playing for bigger clubs and are dealing more pressure and bigger expectations than Kane is at Tottenham.
Cavani cost PSG a transfer fee of £55 million, as reported by BBC Sport, when he joined from Napoli in the summer of 2013.
